A Winery in Jerez Born from a Lasting Passion
Our story doesn’t begin with an online store. It begins much earlier, amid wine barrels, the aromas of aging wine, and a life dedicated to the winemaking craft. That’s why, when we talk about Vinos Aldiso, we’re also talking about memories, family, and Jerez. Bodega de Diego was founded in 2010, following a career deeply rooted in the world of wine. Since then, we’ve strived to maintain a hands-on, honest approach that stays true to tradition: carefully selecting grapes, aging them patiently, and offering you wines with their own distinct character.
Diego: A Life Devoted to Sherry
Diego began working at Sandeman when he was just 14 years old, in 1971. There, he grew professionally, learned the value of aging, and developed a very close relationship with a historic brand linked to Jerez. In fact, his connection to Sandeman is also part of his family history: his grandfather began working there in 1930, and other family members followed in his footsteps.
Later, when Sandeman went through a difficult period, Diego decided to strike out on his own. He didn’t want to see a way of experiencing wine—or a tradition with more than two centuries of history in Jerez—disappear. That’s how a family project was born, one designed with his three children in mind, whose initials give Aldiso its name.

Sherry casks with a history of their own
The soul of Bodega de Diego lies in its casks. In 2010, the project began with the acquisition of casks from wineries such as Sandeman, Valdivia, Garvey, Venta Antonio, and other small winemaking houses. Since then, these casks have been an integral part of our identity and our approach to winemaking. In these casks, we refine our wines and carefully nurture varieties that preserve the traditional character of Jerez. As a result, our own bulk wines maintain a recognizable personality, shaped by time, wood, and experience. Furthermore, we place special value on unfiltered, “en rama” wines, as they express a purer, more direct, and more authentic version of the wine.

We craft wines such as amontillado, oloroso, palo cortado, fino, Pedro Ximénez, muscatel, medium, pale cream, and vermouth—several of which are already available at the current Vinos Aldiso store.
